Wisp Resort opens 3 more trails

Wisp Resort now has 7 trails open: Belly Flop, Possum, Wisp Trail, Grouse Way, Squirrel Cage, The Face and Happy Camper. Snowmaking is currently in progress on all open slopes, as well as a majority of the North Camp trails. Recent colder temperatures and a small amount of natural snowfall has aided Wisp’s efforts to get more trails open. Keep an eye on Wisp’s Lift Status and Grooming Report for more up-to-date information.

Winter is officially kicking off, as we’ve received a few inches of wet, heavy snow already at Deep Creek Lake. Wisp Resort has set a tentative opening date of December 17th if they are able to lay down a sufficient snow base, and their 56th birthday celebration has been moved to December 18th and 19th. We’ll be sure to update you whenever Wisp announces its grand opening.
