Just a short drive from anywhere around Deep Creek Lake, and you can find yourself at Swallow Falls State Park. During the winter, the three waterfalls in the state park can have beautiful ice formations and offer a unique winter waterfall experience.* Highlighted in this video is Muddy Creek Falls, the largest free-falling waterfall in Maryland.

*Remember to dress for conditions, as the trails at Swallow Falls State Park are not cleared in the winter, and the trails can be extremely slippery and uneven. You should always remain on the trails at Swallow Falls State Park, as off-trail areas can be extremely dangerous. The park closes at dusk.
